We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented and team player as a Principal Officer for upcoming insurance agency. The Principal Officer position has overall responsibility for executing the company’s long-term vision and strategy. This includes identification of new markets and expansion opportunities, delivery of high class insurance solutions to customers and excellent management of relationship with regulatory bodies such as Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), Association of Kenya Insurers, Insurance Companies as well as entire members of staff. The position reports to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities 1. Provide leadership and comprehensively manage the activities of the agency. 2. Source and secure new businesses, building and managing a customer portfolio. 3. Plan, organize and coordinate day to day running of the office. 4. Ensure new clients are provided with quotations and continuous follow up is in place. 5. Respond to customer enquiries and handle customer claims. Handle all Insurance administrative duties. 6. Undertake market research in order to identify and recommend competitive products and services that distinguish the Agency from other similar businesses. 7. Liaise with the regulator and provide all necessary reports. 8. Provide reports on the state of the business to senior management and the Board. 9. Participate in the recruitment, training and management of departmental staff. Qualifications and Compatencies • A COP (certificate of proficiency) or diploma in insurance/Exemption. • Five (5) years experience in Insurance Industry. • Sound knowledge of the Insurance products and services and IRA regulations. • High levels of professionalism, honest with impeccable integrity. • Good management ability with capacity to grow, support and develop talent within the subsidiary. • Demonstrable business acumen and excellent communication, social and presentation skills.
