_Clinical Officer at KEMRI/CDC Program in Siaya/Asembo - Kenya Jobs, Careers and Vacancies_ *Program description:* This program is collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with a goal to conduct research in pneumonia, febrile illness, diarrheal illness, malaria, HIV, tuberculosis and other diseases. Due to its continued growth, the Influenza Program has the following vacancy. *CLINICAL OFFICER MR 7 or 8 (2 POSITIONS)* _Reporting to: Program Coordinator_ _Location: (Siaya/Asembo)_ _Vacancy No. K135/11/12_ *Essential Requirements* * Higher Diploma or Diploma in Clinical Medicine * At least 1 year of working experience in a clinical research setting * MS Office proficient *Desired Requirements* * Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams * Strict attention to detail * Strong presentation, interpersonal & communication skills * Prior experience working in randomized controlled trials is highly desirable * Experience with data collection and data collection tools *Major Duties and Responsibilities* * Support implementation of study clinical procedures in a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the safety, immunogenicity, and efficacy of Trivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine and Adjuvanted Trivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine in HIV-infected and HIV-uninfected pregnant women in Western Kenya. * Develop an in-depth understanding of the study design and goals * Work with the project team to ensure quality in data collected and clinical procedures * Collect data and review data collected by others at designated study clinic * Work with other project staff to ensure planning, preparation and implementation of study activities at the study clinic * Perform other duties as assigned. *Terms of Employment:* Contract for 1 year renewable as per KEMRI schemes of service. Probation period for the first 3 months. Salary negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and demonstrated competency.
