_Managing Director at Mathira Water and Sanitation Company in Karatina) – Kenya Jobs, Careers and Vacancies_ Mathira Water and Sanitation Company is a Water Service Provider contracted by Tana Water Services Board to provide water and sanitation services under its license in Mathira East and Mathira West Districts under the Water Act 2002. To strengthen our management and leadership capacity, we urgently invite applications from highly competent, proactive and self driven individual to fill the following position within the company. *MANAGING DIRECTOR* Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is the principal officer of the company and is responsible for the day to day operation of the company. *Major responsibilities include:-* * Developing for the approval of the Board, strategic and business plans, including annual work-plans, budget and performance targets, * Ensuring effective implementation of the company’s Strategic Plan, * Ensuring safe custody and management of the company’s assets, * Providing strategic leadership and direction, including the management and development to the human resources of the company, * Planning, coordination and implementing all activities of the company in line with the policies and directives approved by the Board of Directors, * Ensuring proper management, operational efficiency and corporate reporting requirement of the company, * Promoting the company’s image and developing a good working relationship with all stakeholders and partners, * Ensuring compliance with Government policies and regulations. *Required qualification, experience and key competencies:* The successful candidate should have practical skills, experience and demonstrable track record in managing a large and dynamic department or organization. Specifically, the candidate must have: * A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a water related field from a recognized University or a degree in Business, Economics or Commerce. A postgraduate qualification in management or other relevant field will be desirable. * Either a minimum of 5 years experience in water and sewerage development, management and operations, 3 of which must have been in a senior management position or a minimum of 3 years experience in an executive roles within a large service delivery organization. * A sound understanding of the reforms taking place in the water sector in Kenya. * High level of integrity, results-oriented, managerial and administrative skill backed up by a demonstrable track record. * Meeting the requirements of Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 6 (leadership and Integrity). *Key skills and competencies: * Demonstrated initiative and creativity. * Excellent inter-personal communication and negotiation skills. * Strong management and organization skills * Proven people management skill. Qualified candidates will be employed on a three-year employment contract basis, renewable upon meeting the laid down performance targets.
