WATER OFFICER / TECHNICIAN

The Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) Kenya is a faith-based International Non-Governmental Organization with a presence in more than 120 Countries Worldwide. ADRA is looking for suitable qualified individual to fill the position of Water Officer/Technician in it’s Mwingi Emergency Project.

The successful candidate will be based in Mwingi and will be reporting to the Project Manager.

Contract Period: Seven (7) months

Job Summary: To manage/supervise Watsan activities ensuring good quality work in line with recognized standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construction supervision and Monitoring
  • Contract Tendering and management
  • Reporting and Representation
  • Training of Water Committees
  • Preparing training programs and conduct training for community and village based pump-mechanics
  • Provide technical support to other project staff of the project.
  • Coordinate and monitor project implementation and ensure timely implementation of all Watsan activities
  • Develop and compile high quality narrative and technical reports of Watsan
  • Ensure the smooth daily operations of the water ,sanitation and hygiene project
  • Support any Watsan fundraising activity

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree /Diploma from a recognized university in Water Management & Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Watsan activities in development context
  • Good experience in water works
  • Experience in Development with Skills in Community Capacity Building.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills
