Kenya Livestock Breeders Organization (KLBO) is a farmers’ body formed under the auspices of Agricultural Society of Kenya with specialized function of promoting and coordinating livestock registration as well as recording animals’ performance data in Kenya.

In order to enhance its activities, KLBO seeks to fill the following position.

ICT ASSISTANT: Ref KLBO 01/12

Job Description
The ICT Assistant shall conduct technical activities; provide support to the ICT Administrator under the overall management of the KLBO Manager. This support will include but not be limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintenance of the IT equipment, including workstations and printers.
  • Assist in printing of certificates and production of KLBO Reports.
  • Assist in data checks and verifying correctness of records.
  • Installing and upgrading Software packages.
  • Maintenance of KLBO office LAN and monitoring Internet link equipment to ensure connectivity.
  • Assist in conducting regular back up of Data on and off-site.
  • Ensure the AntiVirus Software is updated on the servers and workstation.
  • Assist ICT Administrator to prepare contents for the Website.
  • Any other task related to duties as directed by KLBO management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Information Technology required or relevant discipline from a recognized institution;
  • Experience in setup and maintenance of LAN;
  • One to two years working experience or relevant discipline;
  • Programming knowledge and experience of SQL and or MySQL database development valued;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products notably Excel;
  • Good analytical and report writing skills;
  • Good in written and spoken English.

Appointment
1 year contract, including a 3 months probation period, with possibility of extension based on performance.
