Land O’Lakes, International Development is receiving applications for a variety of technical positions for a USAID-funded Feed the Future Initiative in Kenya.
ACCOUNTANT
Land O’Lakes International Development Division is seeking an Accountant to be responsible for developing and maintaining all accounting and financial systems including monthly budgets, financial reports, and processing all payments. S/He will also manage bank accounts, assist with procurement, and administer the employee payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, monitor and maintain accounting systems in accordance with Land O’Lakes policies and procedures and US government policies
- Reconcile accounting systems on a monthly basis
- Develop and follow Land O’Lakes procurement policies for purchasing supplies, equipment and services
- Safeguard assets against theft, destruction, or inadequate maintenance
- Develop work plans budgets and compile projection data
- Analyze financial data and recommend financial actions to supervisors and senior management
- Assist with contract management of consultants and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Accounting or auditing degree with a minimum of three years related work experience or five-plus years relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Knowledge of computers and Excel for windows required.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of USAID and/or USDA regulations
- Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
