Land O’Lakes, International Development is receiving applications for a variety of technical positions for a USAID-funded Feed the Future Initiative in Kenya.
INNOVATION PARTNERSHIPS SPECIALIST
Land O’Lakes International Development Division is seeking an Innovation Partnerships Specialist to proactively engage with the development community and develop relationships between the private sector, educational institutions, NGOs, social impact investors and other financial institutions to identify and support agricultural innovations in Kenya.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of the evolving Kenyan context, keeping abreast and assisting in the generation of new and exciting opportunities to advance agricultural innovation.
- Maintain an understanding of the donor and programmatic environment, while thinking creatively of new and exciting ways to address key challenges to the agricultural sector, particularly for women in agriculture.
- Design and develop a continual stream of new potential grantees through public events, media and other campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with other organizations and institutions in support of agricultural innovation.
- Coordinate with Communications/Events Specialist on planning, modality and execution of events to solicit innovative partnerships and ideas.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in agriculture, ICT, economics, business or related field
- Minimum of 7 years diverse work experience in agriculture including 3 years of experience on donor-funded programs
- Fluent in English
- Understanding of USAID’s Feed the Future objectives
- Strong understanding of and relationships with Kenyan agricultural organizations and institutions
- Technical knowledge around agricultural value chain development and nutrition
- Experience working with women in agriculture preferred
