BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION OFFICER

Purpose of the position:
To supervise and ensure the successful implementation of all building and construction works and related activities being implemented by WVK. Ensuring proper civil engineering, contracting & construction guidelines are followed with all stakeholders’ participation in enhancing good engineering practices that will result to and directly contribute to the attainment of child well being outcomes. Specifically, the incumbent will undertake capacity building of staff, supervise implementation of structural engineering works and support efforts to mobilize appropriate resources.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- The holder of this position must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree or Higher National Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized University preferably in Civil Engineering or Building & Construction;
- They must have a minimum of 3 years experience in site works with regards to the designing, planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated development works in building and construction;
- The holder must have a wide experience in constructions and contracts management;
- The holder of this position must be a results orientated leader who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands and;
- He /she must also have ample experience in public relations and be a strong team player.
- Knowledge and application of auto/arch CAD and GIS will be an advantage.
