Project Coordinator at Feed The Children (K) in Nairobi – Kenya Jobs, Careers and Vacancies
Feed The Children (K) is expanding its HIV/AIDS program coverage to Kajiado central District and requires a person who has wide experience in the HIV/AIDS field to coordinate project activities in the area. The project emphasizes the delivery of HIV preventive services to the community. In addition, the project will increase care and support to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in order to mitigate the effects of the epidemic.
PROJECT COORDINATOR
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of all project activities to ensure the project produces the results identified in the Annual Work Plan.
Key Performance Areas:
- Liaise and consult regularly with the relevant local authorities, community leaders and beneficiaries, collaborating partners, and other stakeholders where appropriate, in conjunction with the Program Manager, in relation to the planning, designing and implementation of all the community-based project activities in the assigned area.
- Coordinate the mobilization o f People Living with HIV/AIDS and Orphans Vulnerable Children to enable them identify viable activities geared towards self-reliance;
- Prepare periodic project work plans and budgets as required
- Make regular visits to all beneficiary sites within the project area to assess and verify existing beneficiary caseloads, project needs, problems, delivery and utilization of project inputs and support to project beneficiaries, and advises the parties concerned accordingly;
- Supervise the Project staff, Community volunteers/educators and take appropriate action to ensure efficient and effective services are delivered
- Participate in developing monitoring and evaluation tools as part of FTC HIV/AIDS program team
- Maintain an inventory of project assets and ensure the proper use of the same
- Represent FTC in district Health coordination meetings as necessary
Qualifications
- University degree in social sciences, public Health or related disciplines
- Substantial knowledge of development and understanding of the HIV/AIDS issues;
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of HIV/ AIDS project management
- Previous work with Non-Governmental organizations
- High integrity, motivated, self-driven, team player and mature person able to work with minimum Supervision.
- Strong in people skills
- Knowledge of the Maasai language an added advantage
